1. Is there a way to raise the top if my battery goes dead? How?
Yes, several ways:  you can plug your trailer into 240 volt electric or you can plug into the tow vehicle to recharge the battery. A manual hand pump which will raise or lower the unit is also offered as standard on all Hi-Lo models.

2. Is the unit sealed when travelling in the down position? How?
Yes, it is sealed when it is fully raised and when it is fully lowered. The seal is not intact when the unit is partially raised.

3. Can I drive with my Hi-Lo in the raised position? Why?
No, driving with the unit raised or even partially raised can result in stretching the cables. It also defeats the benefit of having a unit that telescopes.

4. Can I walk on the roof of my Hi-Lo?
Yes, Hi-Lo roofs have been laminated since the late 1970's, making them strong enough to support the weight of two adults without sustaining damage.

5. What advantage is there to buying a Hi-Lo over an upright caravan
Primarily, safety. A lower centre of gravity provides a straighter track and consequently a safer vehicle. Secondarily, are the issues of fuel economy, storage, and resale value.

6. Does the caravan have to be perfectly level to raise and lower it?
No, raising the unit at height differences of 5cm side to side, or 15cm end to end will not effect the unit.

7. What maintenance is required on the lift system?
Though not required to maintain your warranty, lubricating the pulleys and glide rails annually will keep you unit operating more smoothly. The most important maintenance item is to lubricate the guide rod which runs parallel to the hydraulic cylinder.

8. What warranty does Hi-Lo give on the hydraulic lifting system?
The lift system is covered by a 2 year parts and labour warranty.
